Knot Your Father’s Irish Artist
Creating Celtic-knot artwork has been a passion of Kevin’s since he was young, creating his first Celtic-knot designs in his high school art class in 1981. Because of this fascination, Kevin went on to pursue a visual communications degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. After a long carreer as a technical illustrator, he reconnected with his love of Celtic-inspired artwork.
It began with a simple idea. A one-of-a-kind drawing of his family name, Drummond, as a gift for his father. When family and friends admired the piece, he realized that there are many other families that would enjoy celebrating their Irish surnames with this same kind of artwork. That was in 2013. Fast-forward to 2025, and his collection includes 690+ Irish surnames, 30+ Irish places, Gaelic greetings, Celtic symbols and a line of notecards in Gaelic and English. Every year Kevin’s Irish Art travels across the U.S. to feature his artwork in the largest Irish festivals. Kevin’s collection is also featured on this website.
Kevin passed away in May of 2023. His family continues his legacy, making his body of work, his modern-Celtic designs, available on this website. You can contact Kevin’s Irish Art directly using the form below.
